Our trips for 2010 will take teens to the Cape Cod National Seashore, White Mountain National Forest, and the Adirondacks!

Whether it's exploring the high peaks, paddling on whitewater, riding the waves, or learning to rock climb, there is something at Takodah for everyone. Rooted in wilderness travel, Takodah's Adventure Camp program has grown to encompass cultural adventures as well. While Camp Takodah serves as our home base at the beginning and end of each program, we travel and tent camp throughout the Northeast!

Our programs provide a blend of adventure travel, teamwork, environmental awareness, outdoor skill development, and personal growth opportunities. With the motivation to try new things and be a part of a team, any camper can succeed in our programs.

Campers have the opportunity to explore, discover and grow through our adventures, year after year. Campers may register for any age appropriate program.

 

 

 

One-Week Adventures

 

 

White Mountain Rock & Zip        (ages 12+; 70 lbs – 240 lbs for zipline tour)

6/20 – 6/25: $775

Jumpstart your summer with high adventure in the White Mountains! Join us as we hike to waterfalls, rock climb on granite cliffs, and ramble our way up to the summit of Mt. Moosilauke.. Complete the adventure by soaring over the treetops on a 1500' long zipline as part of the Sky Rider Zipline Tour; this is an adventure you won't want to miss!

 

 

 

Wet & Wild SURF!    (ages 12+)

6/27 – 7/3:  $945
We have taken our most popular trip to the next level! We'll take 3 surf lessons spending our days with professional surfers. In the afternoon we'll try out our sea kayaking skills or hike to local hot spots. Mid-week we'll give our surfing muscles a break and visit the Cape Cod National Seashore in search of scenic views and ocean life!

 

 Be A Local Hero       (ages 12+)

7/4 – 7/9:  $650
"Be the change you want to see in the world." Gandhi   Make friends and give back this summer. We will be helping out all over Cheshire County, learning about ourselves and our communities as do for others. We will make sure to take a break to enjoy a sunset hike, and we will bring you to the most scenic secret swimming hole in southern New Hampshire!

 

 

 

Girls Rock!              (ages 12+)

7/11 – 7/17:  $695

Come spend the week with Takodah's most talented female vertical gurus learning the equipment, knots, techniques, and  skills it takes to climb some serious cliffs - girls only!

Berkshire Bonanza             (ages 12+)

7/18 – 7/24:  $695

On this one-week bonanza trip leaders will give you a taste of it all: Rock Climbing, Ropes Course, Mountain Exploration and White Water Rafting! We will teach you how comfortable the outdoors can be. You will leave knowing how to pick a good camp, make a fire, cook a delicious camp meal and do it all in style!

 

Bike Week    (ages 12+)

8/8 – 8/13:  $695
In '09 Takodah's 1st annual Bike Week was rockin'! - Takodian's are hitting the trails again for 2010. Build your trail riding skills locally. Then we'll head out for an overnight at some prime riding spots in New England. You'll leave having learned important bike maintenance tips to take home and teach your friends.

Main-e-iacs    (ages 14+)

8/15 – 8/21:  $925
It’s an extreme adrenaline-filled week in the Maine woods! Go rock-climbing and hike Moxie Bald Mountain, then spend two days white water rafting on the mighty Kennebec River! We will cook our own meals and sleep under the stars.

 

 

 

Two-Week Adventures

 

Boat-Building (for boys)   (ages 13+)

7/4 – 7/17:  $1575

When you go home from this trip you’ll have more than great memories: you’ll have a brand new 14-foot boat and the pride of having built it yourself! We’ll spend our first week based at Takodah, working hard to construct our fleet, take a day off to go white water rafting. If all goes well we will embark on an overnight paddling and camping adventure in our new boats!

 

 

Paddle the Adirondacks     (ages 13+)

7/25 – 8/6:    $1350    
There is no better way to experience the wildreness for the first time then by canoe. Travel into remote areas where no motor boats will be found, paddle past loons and herons, camp on islands and swim daily in pristine waters. The last day in the Adirondacks we will experience the regions most extreme challenge course, scrambling rock walls, and zipping through the trees!

 

 

Riding Program (for girls)  (ages 10+)

8/8 – 8/21:  $190 (1 wk) / $325 (2 wk) + camp tuition
This is two great programs in one: our traditional Girls Camp experience and 5 or 10 days of horseback riding lessons. Enjoy the usual Girls Camp activities every afternoon, but spend each morning learning to ride and care for horses. Open to girls registered for Girls Session 2. May be taken for one or both weeks of camp.
