Each Memorial Day we are reminded of those who made the supreme sacrifice in defense of our nation and of freedom around the world. Memorial Lodge was built, in part, for that purpose. Our historical research into the twelve Takodians who were lost in the Second World War and, most recently, into a second-generation camper who was killed in action in Vietnam helps us to keep their memory alive. We hope you will take the time to read their stories and remember them.

Today, we remember Darwin J. “Tim” Delano, CT 3. Tim was a local leader long before he went to serve with the U.S. Army’s 589th Engineer Battalion in Vietnam. And while he never made it home, the example he set lives on forever.
