There’s no better way of spending part of your summer than volunteering at 1-Week Camp. More than your average vacation, it’s a chance to return to the camp you love and spend quality time with best friends (new and old) — all while making a real difference at camp. Apply today!

Volunteer Opportunities

Cabin Mom/Dad (Dates TBA)

You’ll get to live in a cabin with two summer camp leaders and 10 campers. In addition to serving as a co-leader, you’ll choose between giving special attention to struggling campers, planning and leading cabin activities, helping in program areas and/or teaching classes — whatever feels like the best fit for you. You’ll have all the roles and responsibilities of a cabin leader, and you’ll experience all of our classic camp programs and traditions with your cabin.

Volunteer Corps (Dates TBA)

You’ll get to live in a cabin with other volunteers of the same sex (no campers). A few months before camp, you’ll connect with the other volunteers to select camp improvement projects to tackle during the week. For example, last year’s Volunteer Corps made Giant Jenga sets, laid a stone pathway to the waterfront steps, built 9-square-in-the-air courts, and constructed a slingshot range. While you’re welcome to join in all of our classic camp programs and traditions, you won’t be tied to a cabin, so you’ll have a lot more freedom and flexibility.

Qualifications

1. Must be an alum of Camp Takodah summer camp (former staff given priority)
2. Must be 18 years of age and high school graduate
3. Must pass application, reference, and a criminal background checks
4. Must submit a Voluntary Disclosure Statement
5. Must submit Health History Information

Benefits

Cabin Moms/Dads may receive reduced rates for their own children to attend Camp Takodah.

References

In addition to your application, you’re required to submit three reference forms from adults who can attest to your character and work ethic. The three references must include at least:

• 1 Family Member and 2 Non-relatives
• 1 Male and 1 Female

As soon as you submit your application, please email the link to the Reference Form to your references. You cannot move forward until we have your references, so ask them to submit the forms right away.

Interview

We will schedule an interview with you once we receive your application and reference forms.
